Mount Charleston is located outside of Las Vegas and is noted for its hiking trails, and the Mount Charleston Lodge, a rustic hotel. At an elevation of approximately 7,500 feet, temperatures are much lower than in Las Vegas, which has an elevation of about 2,000 feet, making it a popular place for Las Vegans to vacation.
In the winter, Mount Charleston offers snowshoeing, sledding, and winter wildlife watching that you cannot get anywhere else in Las Vegas. Lee Canyon is the only Ski Resort which offers visitors tubing, ski and snowboarding opportunities in Clark County.
