Gov. Steve Sisolak today announced Nevada will lift its statewide social distancing mandate on May 1, and authority on capacity restrictions will then transition to local governments.
The state is on track to reopen to 100% capacity in all counties by June 1.
Nevada’s mask mandate will continue indefinitely.
Clark County, where Las Vegas is located, will decide next week on a reopening plan. It’s not clear when they plan to fully retire the current 50% capacity restriction, but commissioners are expected to allow the reopening of nightclubs and buffets, while increasing restaurant table sizes from 6 to 10 people.
